The Peculiar Patriot

Liza Jesse Peterson’s one woman show, produced by the National Black Theatre & Hi-ARTS, is a moving indictment of mass incarceration, and a poetic reimagining of her experiences teaching in jails and prisons across the country. I worked as Director of Photography and Editor, capturing Liza’s performance in Harlem, New York and translating it into film.
